Rockville Good Neighbor Nominations Due Monday, Aug. 30
 
ROCKVILLE, Md., July 22, 2010 -The City of Rockville will host the ninth annual Good Neighbor awards in which residents nominate their neighbors for improving the quality of life in their neighborhoods.

The Good Neighbor awards recognize the ongoing efforts of Rockville residents who are making exceptional contributions to their neighborhoods. The program is designed to honor those who make a difference in the community without seeking or receiving recognition for their efforts.
 
Nominees are sought in two divisions: adult and youth. The nominee must:

A three-person panel will select winners from the pool of candidates. All nominees will be honored at a special ceremony in September. 
 
The Neighborhood Awards Program is the City's way of thanking residents who are committed to preserving, maintaining and improving the quality of life in their neighborhoods and our community.

The Neighborhood Resources Program is based on the core belief that a strong partnership with neighborhoods will improve City services and strengthen communities. The program supports and empowers neighborhood associations, as well as facilitates effective communication between the community and City government.
