Lakewood Pedestrian Bridge Opens for Use
Rockville, Md., August 27, 2010 - The City of Rockville has opened the pedestrian bridge located over Wootton Parkway between Lindley Terrace and Keynes Lane. The bridge connects Glenmore Terrace and Lakewood Elementary School.
The bridge was closed Feb. 3, following an inspection that revealed issues with the bridge's structural integrity and was then removed on July 15. A replacement bridge was installed Aug. 25.
The replacement bridge has been inspected and is open to pedestrians.
Work will continue into the early fall on the Americans with Disability (ADA) compliant approach to the bridge from Glenmore Terrace however, a safe and cordoned route will be made available at all times until this construction is complete.
