Rockville Offers Variety of Activities to Celebrate Valentine's Day
ROCKVILLE, Md., February 8, 2011 - Rockville offers several events to celebrate Valentine's Day, whether you spend it with that special someone or with your family. Take in a concert, attend a family dance or catch a movie on the big screen.
A Heart to Heart Valentine's Day Dance for families takes place Friday, Feb. 11, 7-9 p.m. at Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway. The event will feature a DJ and dancing, and supplies to make valentines. Cost is $2 per person. Refreshments will be available for purchase and sales will benefit the Parent Teacher Associations at Twinbrook and Maryvale elementary schools. Cupid's Red Hot Celebration will take place Saturday, Feb. 12, from 7-9 p.m. at Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Road. The family-friendly celebration will include a PG-rated movie on the big screen, a valentine creation station and a sweet refreshment. The Rockville Concert Band will perform a Lover's Lane show, Sunday, Feb. 13, at 3 p.m. at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive.
