Rockville to Hold Public Hearings on Rockville Pike Draft Plan

Rockville, Md., February 25, 2011 - The Planning Commission will hold two public hearings in March on the draft Rockville's Pike: Envision a Great Place plan. The public is invited to attend the hearings Wednesdays, March 9 and 16, at 7 p.m. at Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave., to provide testimony on the draft plan.
Testimony on the draft plan can also be provided in writing by letter to the Planning Commission, c/o Long Range Planning, CPDS, 111 Maryland Ave., Rockville, MD 20850 or by e-mail to rockvillepikeplan@rockvillemd.gov. If providing written comments, include name, address and, if applicable, affiliation.
To review the draft plan:
Following the public hearings, the Planning Commission will hold work sessions, discuss public testimony and produce its recommended draft. The public record will be open through Friday, May 27. Testimony must be submitted before Friday, April 15 to be discussed at the first Planning Commission work session.
The Planning Commission recommended draft plan will be available to the public and sent to the Mayor and Council for review and adoption. The Mayor and Council will also hold a public hearing and work sessions during its review process prior to adoption of the plan.
