Rockville's RedGate Golf Course Opens for Play
Championship 18-Hole Course Features Daily Specials, Course Improvements

ROCKVILLE, Md., March 15, 2011 - The City of Rockville's RedGate Municipal Golf Course is open for play for the 2011 season, and offers a series of specials to match any golfer. Currently, improvements are being made to several holes on the course, as well as the driving range and cart paths.

RedGate's championship 18-hole, par 71 golf course has been ranked among the top 10 public courses in the Washington metropolitan area by Golf Digest Magazine.

RedGate offers competitive rates and green fees, as well as a variety of discount programs, including multi-play cards, 50 years and older specials and twilight rates. 

Discount programs offered for the 2011 season at RedGate are as follows:

• Multi-play car - Play 11 rounds of 18 holes and receive three rounds of 18 holes for free.
  
• 10-month passes - Packages are available offering unlimited green fees for individuals and families.
  
• Twilight rates - Twilight rates begin after 3 p.m. daily April through September.
  
• 50 years and older - Reduced fees for anyone age 50 and older Monday through Friday until noon.
  
• 60 years and older -- Reduced fees for anyone age 60 and older Monday through Friday until noon.
  
• Ladies Day - Reduced fees for ladies all day Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays.
  
• In addition to the daily specials, RedGate is also offering a Loyalty Program. Golfers simply sign up for the free Loyalty Program in the RedGate Pro Shop and begin earning points toward free rounds of golf. Points are awarded to members for 9-hole and 18-hole play.

RedGate features four sets of tees that make this rolling course playable and fun for golfers of all abilities, from beginner to PGA Tour hopefuls.

Work is under way at RedGate to improve hole Nos. 9 and 11, and to make changes to hole No. 4. Those improvements are scheduled for completion in early April.

The Driving Range and cart paths are also undergoing some improvement work. The Driving Range will feature three new target greens, a leveled grass hitting area and an increased overall hitting area. That work will also be completed in April.

RedGate also features a practice green and a full-service snack bar and catering service for outings. The snack bar has a completely new menu for the 2011 season.

RedGate also offers camps and clinics for children age 10-17; offers private lessons; and features a full-service pro shop with club repair and fitting.

Tee time reservations may be made online up to 14 days in advance.
