Planning Commission to Hold Work Sessions About Rockville Pike Plan
Public Record to Stay Open Until May 27

Rockville, Md., April 4, 2011 - Rockville's Planning Commission will hold work sessions on the draft Rockville's Pike: Envision a Great Place plan in April, May and June. The public is invited to observe the work sessions at Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue or on Rockville Channel 11.

The Planning Commission will continue to accept testimony on the draft plan until Friday, May 27.

Testimony on the draft plan can be provided in writing to the Planning Commission, c/o Long Range Planning, CPDS, 111 Maryland Ave., Rockville, MD 20850 or rockvillepikeplan@rockvillemd.gov. When providing written comments, include name, address and, if applicable, affiliation.

To review the draft plan:

Anyone interested in attending a work session should refer to the City's website for the most up to date calendar.

The Planning Commission will discuss testimony during the work sessions. Following the work sessions, the commission will re-open the public record for additional testimony and produce its recommended draft of the plan.

The Planning Commission recommended draft plan will be sent to the Mayor and Council for review and adoption. The Mayor and Council will also hold a public hearing and work sessions during its review process prior to adoption of the plan.

City staff remains available to attend community meetings to present the draft plan.
