Downtown Rockville Road Closures to Take Effect August 5
Sewer Line Repair Will Be Made During Overnight Hours
ROCKVILLE, Md., August 5, 2011— The City of Rockville will be performing nighttime work to repair a sewer line at the corner of Maryland Avenue and East Jefferson Street starting tonight and ending on Wednesday, Aug. 10.
The work will be performed nightly, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. During that time Maryland Avenue between East Jefferson Street and Fleet Street will be closed to traffic. There will also be intermittent lane closures on East Jefferson Street. The roads will be reopened daily during non-construction hours. Maryland Avenue will have barricades in the left turn lane, causing turn restrictions onto westbound East Jefferson Street for the duration of the project.
The construction work will repair a sewer line. In order to minimize traffic disruptions, the work will be conducted at night between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists are advised to use North Washington Street, East Middle Lane, Monroe Street and Fleet Street as alternative routes during road closures.
