Important Dates Outlined for City of Rockville Elections
Absentee Ballots will be Available Beginning Monday, Oct. 10
ROCKVILLE, Md., September 13, 2011— The voter registration deadline for residents living in City of Rockville corporate limits is Monday, Oct. 10. Elections in the City of Rockville will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8.
If you are unable to vote on Election Day, you can vote by absentee ballot. Residents can pick up an absentee ballot within 30 days of Election Day, beginning on Monday, Oct. 10.
Applications for absentee ballots may be picked up in person at City Hall during business hours, requested by telephone at 240-314-8286, requested by email to election2011@rockvillemd.gov or downloaded online at www.rockvillemd.gov/election11/Absentee-Ballot-app.pdf.
After approval of the application, an absentee ballot is mailed to the absentee voter; however, absentee ballots cannot be mailed to the absentee voter after the close of business Tuesday, Nov. 1. After this date ballots must be obtained in person at City Hall.
Absentee ballots (mailed or hand-delivered) must be received at the City Clerk's Office prior to the closing of the election polls, no later than 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8.
Residents who live within the corporate limits of the city and who are registered to vote may vote in City of Rockville elections.
Rockville is divided into 10 voting districts and polls are open on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 7 a.m.-8 p.m. City Hall will be open on Election Day.
City of Rockville elections are held every two years, at which time the mayor and four council seats are up for election.
