Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show Features Hundreds of Historic Automobiles

ROCKVILLE, Md., Sept. 28, 2011 — The Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show will celebrate its 50th year in the community this year. The annual event features two dozen car clubs, more than 500 antique and class automobiles, including a Race Car Display, and a flea market dedicated to cars.

The annual event, being held 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, on the grounds of Glenview Mansion at Rockville Civic Center Park, will feature 26 Washington, D.C., area car clubs. The event is free to spectators.

The Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show Committee sets out each year to exhibit motor vehicles of the highest standard of preservation and restoration, and to continue to be recognized as the premier non-judged motor vehicle show in the region.

The Rockville Antique and Classic Car Show is celebrating its 50th year, although not consecutively, and attracts the best antique and classic cars in the Mid-Atlantic region. The show generally features between 500 and 600 show cars and it attracts about 5,000 visitors.

This year, the Special Display for the 2011 Antique and Classic Car Show will be the Race Car Display.

The show will also feature the people's choice and Rockville Mayor and Council awards ceremony, and a performance by the Rockville Swing Band.
