A Beloved Musical and Cultural Concerts to be Presented at F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre
ROCKVILLE, MD, October 17, 2011– The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive, will present the work of four entertaining and diverse performance groups during November.
The Rockville Musical Theatre will present "Kiss Me Kate," the Cole Porter classic take on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, Fridays, Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and 11, at 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Oct. 29, Nov. 5 and 12, at 8 p.m.; and Sundays, Nov. 6 and 13, at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $16 to $20.
A trip down memory lane is in order during "Remember When- Bringing Classic TV Back," Saturday, Nov. 19, at 1 p.m., performed by the Heart of Maryland Chorus with special guests the Harmony Express Men's Chorus of Germantown. Tickets cost $15.
"Russian Revelry" comes to Rockville when the Washington Balalaika Society performs its brand-new program, Saturday, Nov. 19, at 8 p.m. Tickets cost $15 to $20 in advance and $25 at the door; children 12 and younger are free with a paying adult.
The Rockville Concert Band continues to celebrate Russia with its "Music of Russia" concert, Sunday, Nov. 20, at 3 p.m. Tickets are not required; $5 suggested donation at the door.
The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre is Rockville's exceptional 446-seat performance arts venue named for the celebrated author who often visited the city. Originally built in 1960, the theatre is an integral part of the community, home to 11 performance groups and frequent host of national touring companies.
