Rockville Receives Budget Presentation Honors for 21st Consecutive Year
International Finance Association Recognizes City with National Award

ROCKVILLE, Md., November 15, 2011—The City of Rockville was recently honored for its budget from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada with a Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.

The annual award is for the Fiscal Year 2012 budget, which began July 1, 2011, and ends June 30, 2012. It is given to governments that satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. The guidelines assess how well a government's budget serves as a policy document, financial plan, communication device and an operations guide.

This is the 21st consecutive year the City of Rockville has received this budget award from this organization. The award reflects the commitment to meet the highest principles of governmental budgeting. It also signifies the City's commitment to improve the quality of budgeting and provide an excellent example for other governments.
