Rockville Collections Continue for Annual Holiday Drive
ROCKVILLE, MD, Dec. 7, 2011 – The City of Rockville’s annual Holiday Drive has been in full swing, and the community continues to pull together to support neighbors who may need assistance.
For more than 40 years, Rockville has operated the drive to distribute food and toys to families. Last month, the Rockville Holiday Drive distributed Thanksgiving food boxes to more than 550 families.
Now, Rockville is turning its attention to the December holidays and anticipates helping more than 1,200 children in 500 homes with food and toy donations.
Monetary donations and $15 gift certificates to stores such as Giant, Safeway, Target, Best Buy and Old Navy, are needed by Thursday, Dec. 15. They should be dropped off at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave or City of Rockville Community Services, 30 Courthouse Square, Suite 100.
