Rockville’s Glenview Mansion Features Free Arts and Entertainment for the Holidays
Rockville, Md., Nov. 15- For four Sundays in December, the historic Glenview Mansion at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive, will get visitors in the holiday spirit with a series of open houses.
The picturesque 19th-century home will be transformed into a holiday wonderland, and a variety of entertainment and activities will welcome visitors in search of seasonal festivities. All events are held 1-4 p.m. and are free.
This year's holiday celebration will showcase the mansion's 15 rooms and numerous halls decked for the season, continuing the decades-long tradition. There is no admission to tour the mansion.
The entertainment offered each week is as follows:
Sunday, Dec. 2: Art, Music and Holiday Cheer
-1 p.m., Encore Singers
-2 p.m., Art Gallery Opening Reception and Rockville Singers
-3 p.m., Heart of Maryland Chorus, Sweet Adelines
Sunday, Dec. 9: Children’s Day with Santa and Mrs. Claus
-1 p.m., Heavenly Handbells of Trinity Lutheran Church
-2:30 p.m., Harmony Express
Sunday, Dec. 16: Music and Merriment
-1 p.m., Caroling Quartets from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School
-2 p.m., The Supertonics, CHAOS and the Acabellas of Wootton High School
-3 p.m., Richard Montgomery Madrigals
Sunday, Dec. 23: Tour and mansion and gallery between 1 and 4 p.m.
Glenview Mansion, including its art gallery, is open to the public Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Visitors should call before visiting to ensure there are no private events scheduled. For information about Glenview Mansion, call 240-314-8660 or visit www.rockvillemd.gov/glenview.
