Rockville City Police administer numerous programs, including ride along and victim assistance, and take part in numerous regional and national crime initiatives such as National Night Out.
Every 15 Minutes Program
The Rockville City Police Department is dedicated to educating young people about the possible long reaching ramifications of drinking alcohol, poor driving and the impact it has on them as well as their friends, classmates and their families.
Operation ID is a nationally recognized citizen prevention burglary program. The program allows law enforcement to detect, identify and return stolen or lost property to the owner.
Neighborhood Speed Watch Program
Neighborhood Speed Watch is a public awareness program in which concerned citizens can take an active role in solving the problem of speeders in their neighborhoods.
Police Ride Along Program
The Rockville City Police Department Ride Along Program is designed to help educate the community about what the police department does daily, and to help residents become familiar with the officers and the department.
Victim Assistance Program
The Rockville City Police Department recognizes that every victim needs and expects a minimum level of follow-up to bring their experience to closure. The victim advocate works in collaboration with Rockville City Police to supplement and enhance their efforts to follow-up with the victims of crime.
National Night Out
Neighborhoods throughout the City of Rockville participate annually in the nationwide crime prevention initiative, National Night Out Against Crime. Neighborhood events take place the first Tuesday night in August in dozens of communities throughout Rockville.
