Report Property Maintenance Violations in Rockville
Use this form to report any property maintenance violations you observe from the public right-of-way. The information you provide will help the Rockville City Police Department successfully respond to any property maintenance concerns in your community. Please be observant and complete as much of the form as possible. See the list of violation types to help determine which category of violation to report.

Trash/debris accumulation
This may include any or all of the following; combustible and noncombustible waste materials, residue from the burning of wood, coal, coke, and other combustible materials, paper, rags, cartons, boxes, wood, excelsior, rubber, leather, tree branches, yard trimmings, tin cans, metals, mineral matter, glass and dust from similar materials.
Noxious weeds
All areas, including the public right-of-way adjacent to the property, shall be kept free from weeds or plant growth in excess of ten (10) inches (254 mm). Weeds shall be defined as all grasses, annual plants and vegetation other than trees or shrubs; provided, however, this term shall not include cultivated flowers and gardens.
Junk vehicle
Any vehicle which meets any of the following conditions:
Unregistered vehicles
Not more than one (1) currently unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked on any property in a residential zone, and such vehicle shall not at any time be in a state of major disassembly or disrepair, nor in the process of being stripped or dismantled.
Overcrowding
Dwelling units shall not be occupied by more occupants than a space can accommodate.
Chapter 18 of the Laws of Rockville, Section 18-111 License requires that all dwelling units/apartments that are rented in the City of Rockville must have a rental license.
Pruning
All trees, bushes, hedges, shrubs, vines and other plant growth shall be kept pruned so as not to: obstruct the vision of operators of vehicles traveling upon any public street, road or highway; constitute a hazard to vehicular or pedestrian traffic; be hazardous to the public health and welfare; or otherwise constitute a detriment to the neighborhood, or exist in violation of any other code or ordinance of the City.
Exterior painting
All wood and metal surfaces shall be maintained in good condition. Peeling, flaking and chipped paint shall be eliminated and surfaces repainted.
Parking
All motor vehicles shall be parked in approved off-street parking areas or on an improved street. The parking or driving of motor vehicles over curbs, sidewalks, yards, courts, planting areas or other places not intended for vehicular traffic is prohibited.
