Rockville Bicycle Recycling Programs

Some residents do not have the resources to purchase a bike. Unfortunately, without a bicycle, these residents will not be able take full advantage of the City'y bicycle paths and lanes and other bicycling-related programs offered in the City. Children without bicycles experience one of the greatest negative impacts: they are often dependent on their parents to drive them to visit parks and friends, participate in sports and access other destinations in the City.

Bicycling is also a fun way for children to be active and healthy. Encouraging children to bicycle can help them become physically active and healthy for life.

Put your old bike to good use! Don't throw it out. Consider donating it to the Bikes for the World, a local non-profit that channels thousands of bicycles locally and overseas for productive re-use. For information on collection sites, call 301-461-5349 or email office@bikesfortheworld.org.
