BETR Science Camp

Upon entering camp, each child is promoted to and addressed as ‘Dr.’ as they become Betr World scientists! Our goal is not to teach facts, but to use numerous fun-tastic activities to increase each camper’s confidence in their own abilities to create, discover, think, debate, and accomplish. Campers are grouped by age and interests and experiments are ‘kid customized.’ Activities may include designing and building boats, rockets, marble roller coasters, catapults, hot air balloons and using groceries to build ‘edible’ models of cells, molecules and atoms. Discussions also of DNA building blocks, genes, mutations and family traits. Outside activities include nature walks, collecting and tabulating bugs, worms, leaves, predator-prey examples, sports, games and water activities. Note: Cost includes $20 materials fee.
