Starting the week of October 27, Rockville will begin collecting recycling and refuse for about 4,000 households in more than a dozen neighborhoods located in Phase 1 of the new once-per-week, semi-automated, curbside collection system. In October, residents in Phase 1 will receive one brown cart for all recyclables and one gray cart for refuse, along with a program guide. Once the carts are delivered, they should be used for recycling and refuse collection. There will be no change to yard waste collection. Certain components of recycling and refuse collection, such as bulk collection, will change. Learn more at the meetings or by calling 240-314-8568. The neighborhoods located in Phase 1 include Most of Horizon Hill (except for the northern tip), Potomac Woods, Orchard Ridge, Falls Ridge, Potomac Springs, Lincoln Park, David Skulls, Burgundy Knolls, East Rockville, Regdate Farms, Burgundy Estates (with the exception of the last block), Hungerford and Waddington. A series of meetings will be held to address any questions or concerns, and to provide additional information. At the meetings, carts will be available to help determine the size each household will need. The same information will be available at each meeting and you can drop in any time during the event. |
