| The City of Rockville is evaluating stormwater management (SWM) pond concepts in College Gardens Park. As part of the engineering evaluation, the City needs to assess soil conditions for the existing pond dam and area around the pond. During the week of June 12, a geotechnical engineer consultant will take soil samples in the park with light truck-based boring equipment. A small capped pipe for groundwater observation will be installed near the pavilion and will remain for the next year. The geotechnical engineer will adjust boring locations as much as possible to avoid removing or damaging trees in the park. No construction is proposed at this time.
