PEDESTRIAN SAFETY IMPROVEMENTS AT GREAT FALLS ROAD & MARYLAND 28

As part of Rockville’s ongoing effort to improve safety for pedestrians and bicyclists, City staff has designed improvements at the intersection of Great Falls Road and Maryland 28.  These improvements will eliminate the eastbound right-turn lane on Maryland 28, upgrade pedestrian crossings and provide a bicycle link (6 to 8-foot asphalt bike path) identified in the City’s Bikeway Master Plan.

The City will use a private construction firm, Concrete General, to complete the work.  The expected completion date is October 15, 2004.

If you have any questions or would like more information on this project, please contact John Hollida, Civil Engineer II-Environment, at 240-314-8513 or by email at jhollida@rockvillemd.gov or Bo Ferguson, Assistant to the City Manager at 240-314-8105 or by email at bferguson@rockvillemd.gov.
