A survey crew hired by the City of Rockville’s Department of Public Works will be performing a field survey of existing features adjacent to Argyle Street. Maddox Surveyors will be gathering field data along the roadway that fronts 15 properties. These properties are located at 221 South Washington Street; 2 through 19, 100 and 102 West Argyle Street; and 5 through 10 East Argyle Street.
The primary purpose of this survey is for the Department of Public of Works to gather the necessary information needed to design a sidewalk along Argyle Street. The location of the sidewalk is unknown at this time. Once adequate data has been compiled and preliminary design completed, concepts will be presented to the residents. The majority of the surveying will be within Rockville’s right-of-way. However, some surveying will be in front yards that are approximately 10 feet off of the public right-of-way. This will be to locate fences, trees and landscaping. This is necessary in order to gather enough information to properly design the sidewalk.
The survey work will start on or about Wednesday, Sept. 28, and will take approximately four (4) days to complete.
