Sewer System Rehabilitation Between Bullards Park and I-270

The Department of Public Works has hired Humphrey & Sons, Inc. to implement sanitary sewer repairs between Bullards Park and I-270.  This work is considered to be a high priority and portions of this work have been completed.  The remaining repairs will be completed within the next two weeks.  The sewer rehabilitation work will line approximately 1,300 feet of sewer pipe and one manhole.  The liner coats the interior of pipes and manholes to seal cracks and address pipe defects.  The work has been expedited to ensure no sewer overflows will occur.

The lining process will be completed without any excavation in Bullards Park because the liner is installed through manholes.  You may see crews out accessing manholes and driving vehicles in the park.  One pipe segment in the rear of the Rockville Nursing Home required excavation due to a broken pipe.
