You are invited to a stream walk to review and discuss the proposed College Gardens stream restoration project. This meeting is open to any interested residents, and is especially intended for residents adjacent to the stream construction.
The purpose is to explain the proposed stream restoration plans, highlight the expected limits of construction disturbance and tree impacts, and discuss any questions residents may have. We will walk the stream corridor from Princeton Place downstream, then we will move to College Parkway to view the remainder of the proposed stream work. The meeting will be held rain or shine. If severe weather (i.e., lightning or high winds) occurs, staff will be at the meeting site at 6 P.M., but may delay the field walk until conditions appear safe.
The City of Rockville Department of Public Works (DPW) is finalizing the design plans for the new College Gardens Park stormwater management pond and park renovations. As part of this project, the City also will construct spot stabilization along the College Gardens tributary stream banks between Princeton Place and Nelson Street. Stream construction will begin in the fall of 2008 and will be completed by January 2009. Construction access will be from Princeton Place or College Parkway through City parkland.
