A survey crew hired by the City of Rockville’s Department of Public Works will be performing a field survey of existing features (trees, sidewalks, curbs, fire hydrants, water valves, roadways, etc.) adjacent to Lewis Avenue. KCI Technologies survey crew will be gathering field data along Lewis Avenue between Broadwood Drive and Halpine Road. The survey limits will span along the roadway that front the properties from 1601 to 2389 Lewis Avenue.
The purpose of this survey is for the Department of Public of Works to gather the information needed to design and construct a water main upgrade that is planned for installation under Lewis Avenue between Broadwood Drive and Halpine Road. Once adequate data has been compiled, additional information about the project scope of work and timing will be presented to the community. The majority of the surveying will be within Rockville’s right-of-way. Some of the surveying will be in the yards that border Lewis Avenue to locate water meters. This is necessary to gather enough information to properly design the water system improvements.
The survey work will take place between October 31 and November 9, 2005. Construction of the Water Main Upgrade is planned for the spring or summer of 2007.
