Soul Asylum headlines Hometown Holidays

Serious Crime Declines in Rockville
Crime went down in Rockville in 2009, which was largely the result of a decrease in robberies, burglaries and thefts.

The City's crime statistics, which were released in April, show that the most serious crimes declined 15 percent in 2009 compared to 2008. These crimes, which are identified by police as Part 1 crimes, decreased by 7 percent in 2008 compared to 2007. more
  
Fiscal Year 2011 Budget
Set for Vote May 24

The Mayor and Council are expected to approve the Fiscal Year 2011 budget on May 24.

The Mayor and Council made final changes to the city manager’s proposed FY11 budget, which was introduced
on March 22. Those include increasing parking fines in City-owned Town Center garages from $12 to $40 and charging patrons $1 per day on Saturdays to park in the garages.

Holiday Schedules
Rockville City Hall will be closed Monday, May 31, in observance of Memorial Day.


Parking fees at City-owned garages and meters will be suspended for the day

There will be no recycling, yard waste or refuse collection. Residents will have their collection slide forward one day. Residents may call 240-314-8568 for more information.
