Site of New Rockville Police StationOld Post Office Nears New Life as Rockville Police Station
Just seven months after the official ground breaking for Rockville’s new police headquarters, work is progressing on schedule with completion expected next summer.

The new station—first envisioned in 2005—is a $6.4 million project that includes a new annex building. It will accommodate the department’s current workforce and allow for 10 percent growth. Key portions of the Post Office exterior and lobby will be preserved and enhanced. more
 
 
 

Bill Casper Golf to Operate RedGate
The Mayor and Council voted unanimously Oct. 17 to award a 10-year operating lease for RedGate Municipal Golf Course to Billy Casper Golf of Vienna, Va.  more

Veterans Ceremony Set for Friday, Nov. 11, at Veterans Park
Michael L. Higgs, a U.S. Navy veteran, commander of the Local Disabled Veterans 12 and a Montgomery County teacher, will be the featured speaker as Rockville honors veterans. more

Upcoming Holiday Changes Recycling and Refuse Collection
With the holiday season coming, Rockville wants to remind residents about the recycling and refuse collection schedule. The City does not collect recycling or refuse on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24. There will be regularly scheduled collection on Veterans Day, Friday, Nov. 11. During the Thanksgiving holiday week, residents will have their collection shift forward one day, beginning on the day there is no collection. Friday customers will put their items out on Saturday. Residents may call 240-314-8568 for more information.
