The Rockville Senior Center serves Rockville residents with diverse, interesting and high-quality exercise, computer, recreational and educational programs in a safe, modern and well-maintained facility.

The center also houses an extensive array of outreach programs, including Health Insurance Counseling, Home Repair, Medicare/Medicaid, Legal Assistance, Aging in Place options, and Senior Housing and Transportation. Programs and services are available in English, Spanish and Chinese.

Amenities

  • A renovated lounge with new furniture provides a place to read, relax, play games and socialize with friends. It is also home to a monthly art exhibit.
  • A bright sunroom that offers a place to enjoy coffee, have lunch or host a small meeting.
  • A library that offers members a place to read and check out books, videos and DVDs.
  • The Carnation Room is the center’s largest room and serves as a multi-purpose room where members enjoy performances, Supper Club, bingo and special events.
  • A gift shop that offers a variety of items, including crafts, gift cards and consignments, for sale.
  • Fitness center with cardio and strength equipment including:
    - 14 cardio machines;
    - 7 strength-training stations;
    - a warm up, stretch and cool down area;
    - personal training; and
    - televisions.
  • An exercise room where classes in yoga, aerobics, pilates, dance and more, are held.
  • A ceramics room that features three kilns, two pottery wheels and a drying machine.
  • A woodworking shop that features three types of saws, a lathe and mini lathe, belt sanders, bench grinder, joiner/planer and drill press.
  • A greenhouse and garden that offer the opportunity to grow plants and vegetables year round.
  • A computer lab with 10 teaching stations and a variety of course offerings.
  • A game room available for drop-in use to play billiards, table tennis and darts.
  • A card room for bridge, pinochle, poker and more.
  • A thrift shop offering gently used clothes and household items.
  • A health room staffed with a wellness coordinator, offering health education, cholesterol, hearing and blood pressure screenings, flu shots, body fat composition and health insurance counseling.
  • A kitchen that serves lunch daily and monthly Supper Club.
  • An arts and crafts room suitable for classes in painting, photography, quilting, cooking and more.
