Glass dominates the entire east wall of the Community Recreation Center, serving the dual purpose of linking the athletic activities within the structure to the park, and in the evenings, acting as a beacon for patrons to focus upon as they enter and drive through the park. A terraced garden links the existing structure (now the annex to the recreation center) with the new community center. The Twinbrook Community Recreation Center building was designed by Hughes Group Architects and completed in 1999. |
