Rockville is committed to creating safer bicycling opportunities for both transportation and recreation. Rockville cyclists should be able to meet most of their daily needs by utilizing Rockville's bicycle infrastructure.

Traffic and Transportation is responsible for improving safety, lighting, traffic controls, and bicycle connections between neighborhood and street networks. The Department of Public Works is responsible for on-road bicycle facilities that are located within the public right-of-way. The Department of Recreation and Parks is responsible for planning, constructing and maintaining off-road bicycle paths.
