There are three phases to the zoning revision process: Citizen Task Force: RORZOR(Rockville Zoning Ordinance Revision Committee) In the first phase, a citizen task force, known as RORZOR, created the first Draft Zoning Ordinance and Map. This phase was completed in December 2007. Planning Commission Review and Draft In this phase, the Planning Commission holds public hearings to gather public input. After receiving public input, the Commission will conduct worksessions to create a new Draft Zoning Ordinance and Map that will be presented to the public and the Mayor and Council. This phase is currently underway. Mayor and Council During this phase the Mayor and Council holds public hearings to gather public input on the new Planning Commission Draft Zoning Ordinance and Map. The Mayor and Council will hold worksessions and give staff recommendations for any necessary changes to the Planning Commission Draft. When those changes are made the Mayor and Council will review the document and adopt the Draft as the new Zoning Ordinance and Map.
