Reopening Plan and Schedule

The Rockville Senior Center will return to normal operations drop in use, breakfast bar, fitness room, new programs, and outside programs, with an adjustment in hours, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Reservations will not be required.

All virtual summer classes will remain virtual.

As participation increases, senior center hours will be adjusted and updated on this webpage.

Face Mask Policy

Following the latest federal, state and county guidance, employees of and visitors to most City of Rockville facilities who have received full COVID-19 vaccinations will no longer be required to wear masks.

Unvaccinated individuals will still be encouraged to wear face coverings to protect themselves.

Masks and face coverings will still need to be worn by staff and riders on Rockville Senior Center buses.

The City of Rockville will not ask visitors to share their vaccination status.

Fitness Members

Senior fitness members can still use the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center and all community centers until the senior center returns to regular hours of operation.

Reservations will not be required beginning May 29, 2021.

Drop-In Use

The senior center will be available for drop-in use. One representative from each drop-in group including bridge, poker, mahjong, and knitting should contact Sheryl Roff, 240-314-8800, before scheduling your groups to resume.

Classes and Programs

Rooms will be used for classes, programs, and drop in use at full capacity. In person outdoor programs can come inside the center if weather is not favorable and space is available.

New in person programs are being developed and will be advertised in summer newsletters.

Participants registered for in person outdoor classes do not need to wear a mask.

Meal Program

The Wednesday boxed meal delivery program, including 7 meals, and a shelf stable food bag, will continue until the county transitions to the pre-covid daily lunch program.

The breakfast program scheduled for 9-11 a.m. in the dining room will resume with opportunities for seniors to sit and socialize in the dining room.

Building rentals will resume after July 6, 2021.

Volunteer activities may resume. Stay tuned for reopening date of Rockville Seniors Inc. thrift shop, gift shop, and weekly bingo.

The senior center is in the midst of Phase 2 ADA construction. The side parking lot will not be available for use until mid-summer. Visitors should park in the back parking lot and use the fitness room entrance to access the center.
