Rockville City Hall and Facilities to Close Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Weekend

Rockville, Maryland, Nov. 5 – Rockville City Hall will be closed for Veterans Day on Monday, Nov. 11, and on Thanksgiving weekend, and other city facilities will be closed or will operate on limited schedules.

Monday, Nov. 11 (Veterans Day): City Hall, the Rockville Senior Center, Glenview Mansion and the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be closed. Croydon Creek Nature Center is closed on Mondays. All other city facilities will open as usual. Recycling and trash collection will be suspended and will be made one day later through the week, with Thursday collection on Friday. The city’s Veterans Day ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Learn more at

Thursday, Nov. 28 (Thanksgiving Day) and Friday, Nov. 29: City Hall, the Senior Center, Glenview Mansion and the Fitzgerald Theatre box office will be closed. Fitzgerald Theatre tickets are always available at Recycling and trash normally collected on Thursdays will be collected Friday, Nov. 29. Facilities closed Nov. 28 and open for the following hours Nov. 29: Croydon Creek Nature Center (10 a.m.-2 p.m.); Lincoln Park, Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers (10 a.m.-6 p.m.); and the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center (6 a.m.-9 p.m.). Parking at city-owned meters will be free on Nov. 11, 28 and 29.
