    1. Applications are currently being accepted for projects that will be completed in 2021.

      If you wish to submit an application for a project that will be completed in 2022, please check back in October.

    2. Rebate Overview

      Conservation landscaping rebates are offered to eligible properties within the City of Rockville for the removal of turf grass or non-native invasives and replacement with native plants.

      Rebates are in the amount of $2 per square foot for projects that include soil improvement (see Design Guidelines) or $1 per square foot for projects without soil improvement.

      Eligible properties can receive up to a lifetime total of $2,500 per property in rebates.

    3. Before Applying

      Please read the full Conservation Landscaping Application Instructions and Design Guidelines before applying. Projects must meet these guidelines to be eligible for a rebate. 

      In planning your project, please allow a minimum of two weeks (14 business days) for application processing. It is recommended that you allow for additional time in the event that changes or clarification on the application is needed.

      To complete this application, you will need to have the following documents ready to upload.

      1. A plant list that includes plant species, sizes, and quantities.
      2. A diagram of the planting area showing plant spacing and density.
      3. Photos of the project site (up to 4)
      4. Project approval letter if applying as a homeowners associations, condominium association, or other non-profit.
