The City of Rockville plans to mark Earth Month in April by giving away 300 trees to celebrate its 30th consecutive year as a Tree City USA by the National Arbor Day Foundation. The “300 for the 30th” giveaway will be from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, April 6 at the Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive. Rockville residents, including homeowners, homeowners’ associations and nonprofits will be able to choose up to two free trees, from among a selection of large shade trees and small flowering trees. City staff will provide tree planting demonstrations and advice for caring for trees and the city will hold a ceremony celebrating Arbor Day and three decades as a Tree City USA. Free milkweed seed packets to help monarch populations will also be available. Trees must be picked up at the April 6 event. Advance sign up is required. Sign up for your free tree.

Children team up with an adult partner to make child-friendly natural bath products. Participants will enjoy mixing up products such as bath playdough, lip scrub, bath fizzies and more. Each pair will take home at least 4 projects. Adults and children must register. Register by March 23. This program is a partnership between Croydon Creek Nature Center and Thomas Farm Community Center. Ages: 6+

Celebrate 10 years of Thomas Farm being a part of the Rockville community! Try your hand at pickleball, try out our fitness center (must be over the age of 14), enjoy a fitness class demonstration, take part in kids crafts and more. And of course, enjoy a birthday cupcake!

Light It Up Blue at the Farm for a family-friendly Autism Awareness & Acceptance Event. Enjoy hands-on activities, music by Banjo Man Frank Cassel and s’mores by the fire. Meet the farm animals and participate in an all-inclusive walk with a dance warm-up by ZamDance. Bring a picnic dinner or support the Friends of The Agricultural History Farm Park and purchase burgers, hotdogs, and snacks! Wear BLUE to support the cause! This event will be held at Agricultural History Farm Park.
