Wonder no longer about how to fill those long summer days — the 2018 summer recreation guide “Life in Rockville” is now available, and is packed full of classes, programs and special events for all ages and interests.

A Rockville tradition, the city’s annual Independence Day celebration, returns to King Farm on Wednesday, July 4.

The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery will host the Rockville Art League Juried Members’ Exhibition from May 6-June 15.

Here’s what you can see in May and June at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre: “A Spring Concert of Songs Composed by Women,” presented by the Rockville Chorus. Bryan Seith, director. Refreshments in the lobby after the show. 7:30 p.m., Sunday, May 20. No tickets required.

Rockville will celebrate its LGBTQ community at the second annual Rockville Pride festival from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, June 16.

Rockville’s free outdoor “Movies in the Parks” on the big screen return to neighborhood parks throughout the city on Wednesdays in August. Bring chairs, blankets, food and beverages and enjoy four family-friendly movies at four different neighborhood parks. Movies begin at dusk (approximately 8 p.m.) and are free.

Over four days this June at Horizon Hill Park, an internationally known artist will turn a 15-foot tall sycamore stump into a work of art. The public is invited to watch chainsaw carver Paul Waclo work on the stump, weather permitting, from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday, June 4-Friday, June 8.
