The City of Rockville is committed to providing a safe, well-maintained and efficient transportation system for pedestrians, bicyclists, automobiles and public transit. As part of this service, Rockville maintains its parking meters, garages and lots; enforces parking regulations; issues parking permits for residential areas; and collects parking fines.

Q. How do I pay my parking ticket?
A.
Parking tickets and fines can be paid on-line at Parkingticketpayment.com or in person at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave.

Q. Where can I park in Rockville with a disabled parking placard or tag?
A.
Parking spaces for disabled motorists are located in all City-owned parking lots and garages. Reserved ParkingSpaces are located near accessible sidewalks in lots and near elevators and accessible exits in garages. Only vehicles displaying valid disability tags or placards may park at a space reserved for disabled parking.
 
On-street spaces for disabled parking are also available throughout Rockville’s Town Center. These locations include northbound Maryland Avenue at the intersection with East Montgomery Avenue, southbound Maryland Avenue next to the Rockville Library in Town Square, eastbound Courthouse Square and southbound Monroe Street, south of East Montgomery Avenue.

There is no charge for disabled parking in designated spaces in surface lots, garages or on-street locations. Per City ordinance, vehicles displaying valid disability tags or placards may also park at any metered space for free.

Contact the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration to obtain valid disability parking tags and special parking placards.

Parking MeterQ. How much does it cost to park at the City’s meters?
A.
Rates at the City’s parking meters cost between 25 cents and $1 per hour. Rates are clearly marked on all meters. A list of parking meter rates is available from the Police Department.

Q. How long can I park at a City meter?
A.
Time limits at City meters range from 30 minutes to 12 hours. Time limits are clearly marked on all meters. A list of parking meter time limits is available from the Police Department.

Most meters are operational from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Meters in Rockville's Town Center are operational from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Q. My neighborhood only allows on-street parking with a permit, how do I get a permit?
A.
Residents in neighborhoods with permit parking must complete an application and submit it in person or by mail to the Police Department on the first floor of City Hall at 111 Maryland Ave. Permits cost $10 and are valid for five years.

Q. What is a pre-paid parking meter card?
A.
A pre-paid parking meter card can be used just like cash to pay for parking at most City meters. 

Pre-paid parking meter cards can be purchased at the cashier’s office on the third floor of Rockville City Hall at 111 Maryland Ave. The cashier is open Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cards may be purchased in any denomination, and there is no additional fee above the amount of parking time purchased. Cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Parking Garage on 355Q. Where can I park when I visit Rockville Town Center?
A.
There are a variety of parking options in Town Center. The City operates three parking garages in addition to on-street metered spaces.

Garages are located at 215 North Washington Street, on Route 355 between Beall Avenue and Middle Lane and at 30 Maryland Avenue.

Parking in the Town Square garages costs $1 per hour 7 a.m.-6 p.m. and $1 per entry between 6 and 10 p.m. Parking also costs $1 per entry between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m. on Saturdays. Parking is free Monday through Saturday after 10 p.m., Sundays and City holidays.

Parking at the on-street meters is free evenings after 10 p.m., Sundays and City holidays. Payment of $1 per hour is required 7 a.m.-10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Other garages and lots not owned by the City have varying rates and hours.

Q. How can I get a monthly parking pass for Town Center?
A.
Monthly parking in Rockville Town Center is convenient and affordable. Whether you are in the area for work or commute from the Rockville Metro Station, a monthly parking pass for Rockville’s 355 garage will save you money and time. 

Parking passes for the City’s 355 Garage P3-P5 levels are available for $65 per month and can be purchased at any garage pay station. Passes valid for three-months are also available for purchase at a discounted rate of $180. Three-month passes must be paid for in full at the time of purchase and can be purchased through the pay stations or the parking attendant booths in the garages.
