National Night Out

As a symbol of promoting anti-crime and anti-drug awareness, residents are invited to turn on outdoor lights as part of the traditional display of front porch vigils, sending the message to criminals that neighborhoods are fighting back against crime.

In addition, participating neighborhoods will host their own block party with activities such as cookouts, moon bounces, giveaways, carnival games, prizes and a chance to spend some time with neighbors.

The community event aims to raise awareness about crime and drug prevention, generate support for anti-crime programs and strengthen community spirit and community policing partnerships.

National Night Out is a long-standing crime and drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch.
