Themed Birthday Parties

Croydon Creek nature parties are designed to educate and entertain with programming that highlights the wonders of nature. The nature center’s staff will make sure you and your child have a memorable birthday experience as you celebrate your special day!

Parties hosted by Croydon Creek Nature Center feature a fun-filled, hour-long program led by a naturalist and consist of immersive learning experiences. In the event of inclement weather, alternative arrangements for outdoor portions will be provided. Your total access time to the party room is 2 ½ hours which includes both set-up, your wild party, and take-down.

Scheduling a Party

Parties are scheduled year-round on Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturdays: 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
Sundays: 1 p.m.

Birthday Party Themes

Classic Party

Ages 3+; all year
Duration: 2.5 Hours

Get up close and personal with three of our animal ambassadors who call the center home and enjoy a naturalist-led hike in the forest preserve. The group size is limited to 25 children. Additional fees apply for more than 15 guests.*

Feathers and Fur

Ages 3+; all year
Duration: 2.5 Hours

Investigate our collection of biofacts as you discover animals commonly found in Maryland. This party does not include live animals. A naturalist-led hike in the forest preserve follows up the presentation. The group size is limited to 25 children. Additional fees apply for more than 15 guests.*

Creek Crawl

Ages 6+; June-Sept.
Duration: 2.5 Hours

Grab your water shoes and head to the creek to see the different creatures that swim and crawl there. This party does not include live animals except those that may be found in the creek. This program is weather dependent and the group size is limited to 15 children.

Geocaching Adventure

Ages 8+; all year
Duration: 2.5 Hours

Learn the basics of geocaching and use handheld GPS devices provided by the Center to complete an outdoor scavenger hunt. This party does not include live animals. This program is weather-dependent and the group size is limited to 10 children.

Campfire Party

Ages 5+; Sept.-May
Duration: 2.5 hours

Gather around the campfire and learn more about local wildlife. We will make the fire and provide marshmallows and sticks for roasting. This program is weather dependent and the group size is limited to 15 children. This program is only available on Sundays.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to reserve the date for in-person parties. Deposits can be paid using either MasterCard/Visa, check or cash.

*For party themes that allow for more than 15 guests, a $10 fee for each additional guest up to 25 children will apply.
