Building and Safety Codes
To ensure the safety and comfort of all buildings and structures in Rockville, the Inspection Services Division is charged with reviewing their design and construction in compliance with Chapter 5 of the Rockville City Code and the Maryland Fire Prevention Code. The Division also enforces the following codes and amendments:

2018 Adopted Chapter 5, Buildings and Building Regulations Amendments
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development updated the Maryland Building Performance Standards to adopt the 2015 International Code Council codes. Local jurisdictions began enforcing these codes January 1, 2020. The 2018 adopted code is available below. ***Effective July 10, 2017, sections 903.2.1.1 thru 903.2.9.1 of Chapter 5, Section V have been repealed.***
