The Development Review Committee (DRC) is comprised of representatives from city departments with expertise in planning, zoning, forestry, transportation, stormwater management, and recreation and park facilities, as well as representatives from other public agencies and utilities (WSSC, PEPCO, Montgomery County, etc.) involved in the review of development proposals within the City of Rockville.
During their meetings, DRC members review development applications for compliance with applicable codes and regulations, and provide comments to project applicants at the next DRC meeting. The role of the DRC is solely to provide input to project applicants prior to a formal public hearing and to form recommendations for consideration by city decision makers. They do not have direct authority to take action on projects.
Members of the public are welcome to attend DRC meetings, however these meetings are not public hearings and no public participation will be allowed. If you would like to meet and discuss a specific project, the project managers from the Department of Community Planning and Development Services are available.
