Financial Advisory Board

Established by Section 2-236 of the Rockville City Code, the Financial Advisory Board advises the Mayor and Council on financial matters, including reviewing financial policies, procedures, and documents related to city finances.

Members

The board consists of at least four Rockville residents and three additional members who, in the opinion of the Mayor and Council, demonstrate a stakeholder position. At least one member is from the Rockville business community. If possible, one member should be a certified public accountant, licensed or retired; one should have governmental budgeting experience; and at least one other should have experience with financial matters related to large employers or governmental agencies.

Board members have experience in finance, budgeting, or accounting and are able to read and understand governmental financial statements well enough to recognize inconsistencies and report variances that require explanation to the Mayor and Council.
