About Request a New Permitted Parking District
The Public Works Department accepts petitions to establish new permitted parking districts. To qualify, the parking issue must affect more than 15 households. Existing permitted parking districts are listed on the Apply for a Parking Permit page.
How to Request a New Permitted Parking District
Review Guidelines and Procedures
Before starting a petition, review the complete guidelines. Due to the complexity of creating a new district, all new petitions must follow the permitted parking district petition procedures.
Gather Petition Signatures
Residents seeking a new permitted parking district must gather signatures for a Permitted Parking District Petition and return it to the Traffic and Transportation Division by emailing transportationinquiry@rockvillemd.gov or delivering it to Rockville City Hall.
Evaluation and Decision
Once the petition is received, the Transportation and Mobility Commission will review it and reach a decision.
