Pay a Parking Ticket

About Pay a Parking Ticket

The City of Rockville issues parking tickets for illegally parked vehicles within Rockville city limits. Pay or appeal your parking ticket online at rockville.citationportal.com. Parking tickets must be paid or appealed within 15 days of the ticket issuance date to avoid a late fee. After 15 days, appeals are no longer accepted.

Late Fees and Vehicle Registration Flags

A $10 late fee is assessed on day 16 and again on day 31 from the ticket issuance date. After 30 days, the State Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) is notified, and a flag is placed on the vehicle’s registration, preventing renewal. The MVA may assess additional fees. Repeated unpaid violations may result in the vehicle being towed at the owner’s expense.

Tickets on Private Property

The City of Rockville can only issue the following parking tickets on private property, unless a property has an
agreement with the city to enforce all violations:

  • Handicap Parking Only
  • No Parking – Fire Lane
  • No Parking Within 15 Feet of Fire Hydrant
  • No Parking Without Consent of Owner
