Schedule a Fire Inspection

Fire inspections are required for any construction project for which a Fire Code plan review has been conducted or for any project for which a Fire Protection Permit is required. Building permits will have a Fire Code plan review comments sheet attached or be noted as being subject to field inspection by the fire marshal. For more information, refer to the Fire Protection Systems Inspection Procedures. Fire Code compliance inspections should be scheduled in the MyGovernmentOnline (MGO) portal.

Fire inspections are also required for initial or renewed licenses for daycare homes and centers, nursing homes, and automotive repair facilities. Use the Fire Inspection Scheduling Form below to schedule fire inspections for licensed facilities.

Effort will be made to honor the requested date and time based on availability. You will receive a confirmation of the date and time from the inspector once your request has been processed. It is recommended that inspections be requested at least one week in advance.

Inspection Fees for Licensed Facilities

A fee is due at the time of inspection and must be presented in the form of a check or money order; cash will not be accepted. The inspection will not be conducted if the fee is not received at the time of inspection. Do not mail the fee to the City of Rockville.

• Board and Care, up to 16 residents: $115.25
• Board and Care, 16 or more residents: $230
• Private Educational Facility: $230
• Other Licensed Facilities: $115.25
• Fireworks Inspection Fee > 30 Days: $459
• Fireworks Inspection Fee < 30 Days: $575.75
