County to Provide Free, Virtual Tax Preparation Appointments Through VITA

March 6, 2025

Montgomery County is hosting free, in-person and virtual federal and state tax preparation sessions throughout tax season for low- to moderate-income families that earned $67,000 or less in 2024.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which is run by the Montgomery County Community Action Agency, provides IRS-certified volunteers from nonprofit and public agencies who can help low- to moderate-income families maximize their tax refunds and credits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit, and e-file their federal and state tax forms.

In-person appointments are available until Thursday, April 10 at sites throughout Montgomery County and in Rockville, 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, and noon-8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Community Action Agency, 1401 Rockville Pike, Suite 320.

Appointments are also available through CASA, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Fridays and some Saturdays. For information, call 240-491-5774, email lprockvilletaxes@wearecasa.org or visit wearecasa.org/impuestos-maryland.

Virtual Friday appointments are available by calling 240-777-1123. TTY users can call Maryland Relay 711.
