A Coat of New Color in College Gardens Park

A new mural was in the works this summer at College Gardens Park, thanks to artist Andy Dahl.
Dahl is a painter, sculptor, filmmaker and public artist with a master’s in fine arts from the Maryland Institute College of Art. He balances his time between public art commissions, serving as a community organizer in East Baltimore and several film projects. Additionally, Dahl has worked extensively on youth empowerment projects through the arts in New Orleans, Bolivia, Paraguay and California.
College Gardens Park is located at 615 College Parkway. The mural is part of Rockville’s Art in Public Places program. Learn more about public art in Rockville at rockvillemd.gov/aipp.
In other arts news, a call for artists has been issued for applicants to submit their proposals for the Memory Walk Park Public Art Project. The submission deadline is Friday, July 11.
