Buy Energy-Saving Products Feb. 14-16

Homeowners thinking about upgrading an appliance, replacing a refrigerator, or even changing a light bulb can, tax free, on Presidents Day weekend.

On Saturday, Feb. 14-Monday, Feb. 16, purchases of the following energy-efficient Energy Star products are free from Maryland’s 6% sales tax:

  • Air conditioners
  • Washers and dryers
  • Furnaces
  • Heat pumps
  • Boilers
  • Solar water heaters (tax exempt year-round)
  • Standard-size refrigerators
  • Dehumidifiers
  • Programmable thermostats
  • LED light bulbs
