From its introduction to medieval England through the Victorian era, sugar took many forms. First used as a medicine and spice, it later became part of courtly dining, after-dinner rituals and elaborate Tudor banquets. Trace the evolution of dessert and sweets, concluding with how industrialization reshaped them during the Victorian era. Presented by food historian Joyce White.
