What are the true stories behind some movies of the ‘80s? Many were based on real-life events and personalities. Explore what really happened and the story behind the story. Instructor: Joan Adams.

From 18th-century Vienna to the 1936 Berlin Olympics and Cambodia in the 1970s, these films draw from history and real life. “Amadeus” imagines a rivalry between composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Antonio Salieri, adapted by Peter Shaffer from his stage play. “The Jesse Owens Story” traces the life and Olympic achievements of the legendary athlete. “The Killing Fields” examines the Khmer Rouge era through the experiences of journalists Dith Pran and Sydney Schanberg.
