Commission on Aging
Established by Resolution 62-69 and amended by Resolutions 21-70, 30-73, and 14-25, the Commission on Aging serves as a voice for Rockville’s senior population and provides a gateway between seniors and the Mayor and Council to foster a welcoming, lifelong community in Rockville. The commission advocates for older individuals, serves as ambassadors to the senior community, and gathers concerns while promoting city programs that may offer helpful solutions. It also assists city staff in communicating with residents of all ages about seniors’ needs and concerns that may affect the well-being of Rockville’s diverse population. Additionally, the commission strives to represent Rockville’s seniors in city, county, and state social and legislative matters.
